Discovery Tri’s ‐ Children’s open water triathlon, staged at Writtle College returns to the Triathlon England Eastern Region league later in the triathlon calendar but with event course improvements – not only will it boast the Eastern regions only children’s open water triathlon it will be further enhanced (subject to county council road closure approval ) by the introduction of a 90 % tarmac cycle circuit.
Discovery Triathlon have continued their partnership with Writtle College and with valued support from Triathlon England Eastern region they are excited to bring the first open water and tarmac cycle circuit triathlon to the eastern region race series. Furthermore Discovery triathlon have added an Adults open water Aquathlon event which will start the day’s proceedings. So any Enthusiastic parents or coaches / beginners or veterans please take up the challenge.
The event order of proceedings will be generally as follows; ‐ Subject to changes on the day
Adults Aquathlon ‐ Approx start time 9.30 ame.
Tristart Duathlon ‐ Approx. start time 12.30pm
Tristar T1, T2, T3 & Youth to follow
The Tristar triathlon shall consist of an open water swim followed by a tarmac cycle circuit and final run discipline on the grass course around the lake. (Distances according to age as indicated in the table below).
The race is open to beginners as well as experienced competitors.

Note Relating to the Swim Waves
Wetsuits: We recommend the use of wet suits, but they are not compulsory unless the water temperature at the time of the race is below the guidelines as detailed in the BTF rules , shortie wet suits will be permitted.

(All athletes, adults and children with membership will asked to present their valid Triathlon England & race License Membership at event registration. Failure to provide their membership card will result in a further charge of £3 for an Adults race day license and £1 for a children’s race license – As per British Triathlon Rules ‐ No License no race )
The closing date for the event sign up is Friday 8th July – 1800 hrs
Withdrawals will be accepted up to 1st July and the entry fee refunded minus a £4 admin charge.
